A slide lock is used to hold open a mold slide while the molded part is being ejected from the cavity. It provides a spring-loaded detent and prevents the slide from slipping. The simple design is dependable and compact. It sits in a pocket, out of the way of debris that could interfere with its operation. The compact shape is useful when space is limited. The plunger-latch flat contact surface is more dependable than ball or pin contacts employed in other styles of slide locks.
Slide locks are available in three sizes. They can be selected by the holding force or maximum weight of the slide. The holding force are: SLK-8A : 8 lbs, SLK-25A : 25 lbs, SLK-50A : 50 lbs. Multiple slide locks may be used when the holding force of just one slide lock may not be enough.
- Compact shape fits in limited space within the mold base.
- Does not protrude from the mold base.
- Flat-surface contact provides reliable slide retention.
- Can be added to existing mold cam slides.
- Held in place by socket-head cap screws.
- We sell two brands – Superior and C&O – which are made by different factories but are compatible.
- C&O slide locks are not manufactured by Superior.
- Each Superior slide lock includes a latch plate.
- C&O slide locks do not include latch plates. Latch plates are sold separately.
