This Royal BH bevel headed punch/quill punch has a 60 degree beveled head and a straight shank. It is made from O1 oil-hardening steel heat-treated to 58-60 Rc. We draw the heads back to a lower hardness. The shank diameter tolerance is +/-.0003 to within 3/8 of the head. The shank diameter is ground before heat treat and the finish is burnished as a result. You may notice that the shank is slightly oversize (more than +.0003) within 3/8 of the head. This happens when we hot-forge the heads.

The available decimal inch diameters are .047 to .375 in .001 increments. Please contact us if you need a diameter manufactured to a .0001" increment, or if you need us to make any alterations.
