This Ruetom Special Oversize Tolerance Ground Ground Flat Stock (Gauge Stock) is made by Precision Marshall Steel Company. The steel type is AISI 420 stainless steel, annealed to 25 Rc (255 Brinell). Its composition and properties are between 410 and 440C stainless steel. Ruetom Special has high hardness and responds excellently to polishing. It can be heat treated and it is magnetic. Corrosion resistance is maintained up to 1150°F (621°C). The yield strength is 50,000 psi (345 Mpa). Ruetom Special is ideal for manufacturing plastic injection mold cavities, knives, shafts, and surgical instruments.

The standard nominal sizes are ground to a satin finish on four sides, free of decarburization, held to tight tolerances in squareness, and ready for layout. Each piece is lightly coated with rust-preventive oil and individually packaged in a vapor-resistant envelope which has the size and steel type clearly marked. At least one end is painted pink for easier identification of the steel type.

The oversize Thickness |T| tolerance is +.010/+.015". The oversize Width |W| tolerance is +.010/+.015". The Length |L| tolerance is +.500/-.000".

This Premar 410 Regular Tolerance Precision Tolerance Ground Flat Stock (Gauge Stock) is made by Precision Marshall Steel Company. The steel type is AISI 410 stainless steel, annealed to 18 Rc (217 Brinell). It is a chromium alloy (martensitic) stainless steel that can be heat treated for improved wear resistance and extra hardness up to 41-43 Rc (381-400 Brinell). Corrosion resistance is maintained up to 1300°F (705°C). The yield strength is 30,000 psi (207 Mpa). Typical applications include fasteners, machined parts, and shafts.

The standard nominal sizes are ground to a satin finish on four sides, free of decarburization, held to tight tolerances in dimensions and squareness, and ready for layout. Each piece is lightly coated with rust-preventive oil and individually packaged in a vapor-resistant envelope which has the size and steel type clearly marked. At least one end is painted orange for easier identification of the steel type.

The Thickness |T| tolerance is ±.001". The Width |W| tolerance is +.000/.005, when W > T and the profile is rectangular. When W=T the profile is square and the width tolerance is ±.001". The Length |L| tolerance is +.500/.000".

This Premar 440C Oversize Tolerance Ground Flat Stock (Gauge Stock) is made by Precision Marshall Steel Company. The steel type is AISI 440C stainless steel, annealed to 21-28 Rc (229-269 Brinell). When heat treated Premar 440C is one of the hardest stainless steels, up to 57-62 Rc (595-688 Brinell), which makes it suitable for making premium quality knives, cutters, blades, bearings, and valves. It has good wear resistance due to its high carbon content. It is magnetic.
