Dayton Metric Heavy-Duty Ballock punch blanks are made of high quality tool steel which is vacuum heat treated and precision ground to exact tolerances. The available tool steel types are M-2 and PS4 which is like CPM-M4. Both are heat treated to a hardness of 60-63Rc. You can grind or hard-machine these punch blanks to make stamping punches as may be required for your immediate need.
There are 4 styles available. The BJB style are metric heavy-duty Jektole ball lock punches. Each one has an internal spring-loaded ejector pin for preventing slugs from being pulled up, out of a die button. BPB style are metric regular heavy-duty ball lock punches, without ejector pins. There are also light-duty Jektole ball lock punches which are located at the link below. Those are CJB style, having ejector pins, and CPB style without ejector pins. These heavy-duty punches have a larger tear-drop notch in the body to match the metric heavy-duty ball lock retainers. The light-duty punches have a smaller tear-drop notch to match the metric light-duty ball lock retainers.
The available heavy-duty body diameters (D) are 10 to 40 millimeters. The available heavy-duty lengths (L) are 63 to 125 millimeters. Please contact us if you need a different size, or if you need us to make any alterations.
