This Royal BH bevel headed punch/quill punch has a 60 degree beveled head and a straight shank. It is made from O1 oil-hardening steel heat-treated to 58-60 Rc. We draw the heads back to a lower hardness. The shank diameter tolerance is +/-.0003 to within 3/8 of the head. The shank diameter is ground before heat treat and the finish is burnished as a result. You may notice that the shank is slightly oversize (more than +.0003) within 3/8 of the head. This happens when we hot-forge the heads.The available fractional inch diameters are 1/16, 5/64, 3/32, 7/64, 1/8, 9/64, 5/32, 11/64, 3/16, 13/64, 7/32, 15/64, 1/4, 17/64, 9/32, 19/64, 5/16, 21/64, 11/32, 23/64, and 3/8.
