The steel type is AISI H-13 hot-work tool steel, pre-hardened to 42-46 Rc. It has uniform machining properties and consistent response to heat treatment through carefully controlled chemical analysis. Identification of each production lot is maintained, and a certified chemical analysis can be provided upon your request.The drill rod ends are saw-cut and chamfered or deburred when the diameter is 3/8" or greater. This processing protects other rods from scratching, helps your set-ups and improves safety in handling. Smaller diameters are accurately cut with automatic die-cutters. At least one end is painted brown for easier identification of the steel type.The Diameter |D| tolerance is ±.0003" for rod diameters less than .124, ±.0005" for diameters .125-.499, and ±.001" for diameters of .500 inches and greater. The Length |L| tolerance is +.125/-.000.The available diameters are 1/8 to 1-1/2 inches. The available length is 36 inches.
