 A-2 Ground Flat Stock is likely about as popular as O-1. And like O-1, there are many standard sizes and it's easy to heat treat. But it can hold a cutting edge longer. A-6 is also available and can be heat treated at a lower temperature. A-2 GFS comes annealed. It can be used for making dies, knurls, rolls, liners, mandrels, hobs, shears, knives, form tools, and spindles.
